How Coaching Works |
Coaches are trained to listen, to observe and to adapt their approach to individual client needs. They seek to elicit solutions and strategies from the client, believing that they believe the client is naturally creative and resourceful. The coach’s job is to enhance the skills, resources and creativity that the client already has. Creating a working relationship with a coach from Star Leadership LLC is a four-step process that is designed to quickly and effectively create a strong foundation for coaching.
- Interview our coaches and discuss your goals and preference for coaching methods and strategies
- It is recommended that you interview at least three coaches to find the right match
- Review and sign the Star Leadership LLC Coaching Guidelines agreement for coaching
- An initial discovery and goal-setting meeting will allow us to clarify your goals
- One available option is for the coach to gather feedback from others related to your current strengths and weaknesses
- We can employ a full range of questionnaires, assessment tools and styles to help with goal clarification
- The logistics and structure that work best for you can be determined at this point, for example: Duration of meetings -- 30, 45, or 60, or 120 minutes
- Frequency -- every week, every other week, once a month, or as needed
- Medium -- phone, face-to-face, email, text messages
- Regular coaching meetings begin
- Assignments are given between coaching meetings relevant to your goals
- Related communications between meetings are welcome
- Feedback is given on progress and the coaching
- For first-time clients of Star Leadership LLC, a three-month minimum of coaching is required
- Review of the initial goals, the coaching, the successes, shortfalls, and next steps
- Coach will check in with you every so often to see how you are doing
